Do It Now!

Agree with your adversary quickly….

Wanting to make sure that my adversary gives me all my rights is a natural thing.  From our Lord’s standpoint it doesn’t matter whether I am cheated or not, but what does matter is that I don’t cheat someone else.  Have you suddenly reached a certain place in your relationship with someone only to find that you have anger in your heart?  Confess it quickly – make it right before God.  Be reconciled to that person – do it now!

The Strictest Discipline

If your right hand causes you to sin, cut if off and cast it from you….

Matthew 5:30

There are many things that are perfectly legitimate, but if you are going to concentrate on God, you cannot do them.  Jesus Christ through His Spirit has to restrain you from doing a great many things which may be perfectly right for everyone else, but not right for you.  Yet see that you don’t use your restrictions to criticize someone else.

Supreme Court Decision Makes Implosion More Likely

Please take a moment to read this recent post from Joel C. Rosenberg’s Flash Traffic blog.  You can find the entire post here.  Blessings!

A disastrous, appalling decision was handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court today. The Court upheld the individual mandate and socialized medicine, saying both are constitutional, despite the fact that a recent poll found 68% of Americans want all or part of the law repealed. The federal government can now force us to buy what we don’t want. Washington politicians and bureaucrats will become the final arbiter of our most personal medical decisions, rationing care for many and denying care to some who are not deemed worthy of receiving it, especially if the care is expensive. The “Affordable Care Act” (nicknamed “Obamacare”) nationalizes 1/7th of our economy, imposes one of the largest tax increases in American history on an economy already struggling, massively increases government spending, and will increase the national debt by $1.15 trillion, according to a recent study. This, despite the fact that we already have a crushing federal debt of more than $15 trillion, and another $65 trillion in unfunded liabilities related to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid coming at us with breakneck speed. Our ship of state is hurtling towards massive debt icebergs, yet rather than slow down or change direction, we are accelerating our deficit spending. Bottom line: the implosion of the American economy has just become more likely.

An Urgent Appeal For Help: From Dr. Mike Evans

Please read below and consider this opportunity to enrich the life of another.

Compassionate souls, Le-Ma’an Tzion (for the sake of Zion) reached out and began to restore Ramla and to help the Jewish inhabitants return home. The first immigrants were Ethiopian Jews. During the pogroms, those Jews wrote on the wall of Ramla, “Have mercy, O our brothers, for we have been afflicted.” This summer 250 Jewish refugees will be brought to Israel. Their homes will be in Ramla. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers and grandchildren will arrive with virtually nothing—perhaps only a few items of clothing.

We are preparing to launch the Jerusalem World Center as the home of compassionate Christians worldwide to comfort God’s Chosen People. These families do not have household supplies to set up a new home. We have been asked to help purchase these supplies. The cost to sponsor one household is $200; two households—$400; four households—$800. As you support the Jerusalem World Center today, please help us help with this need.

We are calling this campaign “Operation Joseph” after Joseph of Arimathaea, the man who donated his own prepared tomb for the burial of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was crucified, Joseph went boldly to Pilate, asking him for the body of our Lord. Joseph immediately purchased fine linen (Mark 15:46) and proceeded to Golgotha to remove the body of Jesus from the cross. He wrapped Christ’s body in the linen, and it was laid in the tomb.

Joseph lived in Ramla, and even though he had spent a fortune to purchase a stone tomb in Jerusalem, he gave it to the Lord and was later buried in Ramla. He did something great for God. I want to encourage you today to join me in supporting the Jerusalem World Center as we comfort the house of Israel.

This is a wonderful opportunity for us to show God’s love in a very real and meaningful way to some desperately poor Jewish people who urgently need our help. Together we can be a testimony of salt and light to hurting hearts. In compassion, Jesus reached out to those who were in need, and today we can do the same. Please be as generous as you can to help meet this great need.

Your support of the Jerusalem Prayer Team makes it possible for us to conduct vital humanitarian outreaches like this as well as continue our worldwide prayer efforts on behalf of the Jewish people at this prophetic moment in history. Thank you so much for being part of the team. God bless you for being such a wonderful blessing to His Chosen People.

Baruk ha -mevarekh et ammo Yisrael ba-shalom.
Blessed be He who blesses His people with Peace.

Your ambassador to Jerusalem,

Dr. Mike Evans

Held by the Grip of God

I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

Philippians 3:12

Once God has placed His call upon you, woe be to you if you “turn aside to the right hand or to the left” (Deuteronomy 5:32).  We are not here to work for God because we have chosen to do so, but because God has “laid hold of” us.

The Overshadowing of God’s Personal Deliverance

“…I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

Jeremiah 1:8

Wherever God sends us, He will guard our lives.  Our personal property and possessions are to be a matter of indifference to us, and our hold on these things should be very loose.  In essence, Jesus says, “I will guard your life.  If you try to guard it yourself, you remove yourself from My deliverance.”

Drawing on the Grace of God – Now

We…plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain.

2 Corinthians 6:1

Prayer is the practice of drawing upon the grace of God.  Don’t say, “I will endure this until I can get away and pray.”  Pray now – draw upon the grace of God in your moment of need.
