Compassionate souls, Le-Ma’an Tzion (for the sake of Zion) reached out and began to restore Ramla and to help the Jewish inhabitants return home. The first immigrants were Ethiopian Jews. During the pogroms, those Jews wrote on the wall of Ramla, “Have mercy, O our brothers, for we have been afflicted.” This summer 250 Jewish refugees will be brought to Israel. Their homes will be in Ramla. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, grandmothers, grandfathers and grandchildren will arrive with virtually nothing—perhaps only a few items of clothing.
We are preparing to launch the Jerusalem World Center as the home of compassionate Christians worldwide to comfort God’s Chosen People. These families do not have household supplies to set up a new home. We have been asked to help purchase these supplies. The cost to sponsor one household is $200; two households—$400; four households—$800. As you support the Jerusalem World Center today, please help us help with this need.
We are calling this campaign “Operation Joseph” after Joseph of Arimathaea, the man who donated his own prepared tomb for the burial of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was crucified, Joseph went boldly to Pilate, asking him for the body of our Lord. Joseph immediately purchased fine linen (Mark 15:46) and proceeded to Golgotha to remove the body of Jesus from the cross. He wrapped Christ’s body in the linen, and it was laid in the tomb.
Joseph lived in Ramla, and even though he had spent a fortune to purchase a stone tomb in Jerusalem, he gave it to the Lord and was later buried in Ramla. He did something great for God. I want to encourage you today to join me in supporting the Jerusalem World Center as we comfort the house of Israel.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to show God’s love in a very real and meaningful way to some desperately poor Jewish people who urgently need our help. Together we can be a testimony of salt and light to hurting hearts. In compassion, Jesus reached out to those who were in need, and today we can do the same. Please be as generous as you can to help meet this great need.
Your support of the Jerusalem Prayer Team makes it possible for us to conduct vital humanitarian outreaches like this as well as continue our worldwide prayer efforts on behalf of the Jewish people at this prophetic moment in history. Thank you so much for being part of the team. God bless you for being such a wonderful blessing to His Chosen People.
