Unto the Hills – September 30, 2013

There are thousands of people who do not give themselves to Jesus Christ, because they have conformed to the world.  A true Christian does not conform himself to the worldly concepts of religion.  Instead, he is to become a true “follower” of the Lord.

Be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 1:23, 24 RSV

Billy Graham – Unto the Hills

Unto the Hills – September 29, 2013

To resent and resist God’s disciplining hand is to miss one of the greatest spiritual blessings we Christians can enjoy this side of heaven.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful.  Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Hebrews 12:11 NIV

Billy Graham – Unto the Hills

Unto the Hills – September 28, 2013

God possesses infinite knowledge and an awareness which is uniquely His.  At all times, even in the midst of any type of suffering, I can realize that He knows, loves, watches, understands, and more than that, He has a purpose.

Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; [and] you, being rooted and grounded in love, may…know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge.

Ephesians 3:17-19 RSV

The Power of Relationship

Every now and then I’ll have a conversation that is unequivocally God-ordained. That is not to say that God does not influence a great many of my conversations; however these are extraordinary and unusually powerful.  They typically come out of the blue and leave you feeling great, knowing that something special has transpired.  My memory is not what it used to be, but I can always remember these conversations as they are etched into my mind as significant events.

Some of the most important of these conversations have taken place in the workplace.  I just want to take a moment to reinforce what I feel God is saying to me.  We are called to be salt and light wherever we go.  He is able to spread his message in many ways, but one great vehicle comes through the power of our relationship with people whom we see on a daily basis.

How are your relationships?  Can God move through them to broadcast His thoughts, will, power, and love to people you know?

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?  It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.  You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.”

Mathew 5:13-15 NKJV

Unto the Hills – September 26, 2013

God is saying to the whole world, “I love you.  I am willing to forgive your sins.”  God is saying to all those who are lonely today, “Behold, I am with you until the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20).

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near in the blood of Christ.

Ephesians 2:13 RSV

Billy Graham – Unto the Hills

Unto the Hills – September 25, 2013

The man who has experienced the new birth is a member of God’s household.  His will is changed, his objectives for living are changed, his disposition is changed, his affections are changed, and he now has purpose and meaning in his life.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Ephesians 2:10
