Wisdom For Each Day – November 3, 2014

Life can be hard, and sometimes it leaves us confused, or even angry and bitter.  And like Job, you may have told God exactly how you felt.  And why not?  He already knew your mind and heart, and He doesn’t want  us to pretend that everything is all right when it isn’t.  He didn’t chastise Job for his honesty; He understood his heartache, just as He understands ours – and He still loved Job, just as He still loves us.

But Job didn’t just keep complaining (as we’re prone to do).  Instead, he turned toward God in faith, and in time, God gave him comfort and peace.

“I loathe my very life; therefore I will give free rein to my complaint and speak out in the bitterness of my soul.”

Job 10:1
