Max Lucado 3:16 – The Numbers of Hope: August 31, 2016

Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.  For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me….  Truly I say to you, the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.

Max Lucado 3:16 – The Numbers of Hope: August 30, 2016

The downturns of life can create such a sad state of affairs that we wonder if God still wants us….  [In the story of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31),] Lazarus [winds up needing] nothing.  The…rich man needs everything.  He loses the lap of luxury and Lazarus discovers the lap of Abraham.

You may be [a Lazarus].  Not begging for bread, but struggling to buy some.  Not sleeping on streets, but on the floor, perhaps?  In your car sometimes?  On a couch often?  Does God have a place for people in your place?…  God takes you however he finds you.  No need to clean up or climb up.  Just look up.  God’s “whoever” policy has a “however” benefit.

Jesus is Coming Soon!

This song has been on my mind for the last few weeks so I thought I’d share it.

Troublesome times are here filling men’s hearts with fear
Freedom we all hold dear now is at stake
Humbling your hearts to God saves from the chastening rod
Seek the way pilgrims trod Christians awake

Jesus is coming soon morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound

Love of so many cold losing their home of gold
This in God’s word is told, evils abound
When these signs come to pass, nearing the end at last
It will come very fast, trumpets will sound

Jesus is coming soon morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound

Troubles will soon be o’er, happy forevermore
When we meet on that shore, free from all care
Rising up in the sky, telling this world goodbye
Homeward we then will fly, glory to share!

Jesus is coming soon morning or night or noon
Many will meet their doom, trumpets will sound
All of the dead shall rise, righteous meet in the skies
Going where no one dies, heavenward bound
