I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.

Young [orphaned] John Todd grew up in his aunt’s care.  She was a mother to him….  Years later…she sent news of her failing health and impending death.  Here is what he wrote in reply: “My Dear Aunt, Years ago, I left a house of death, not knowing where I was to go, whether anyone cared, whether it was the end of me.  The ride was long, but…finally I arrived to your embrace and a new home.  I was expected; I felt safe.  You did it all for me.  Now it’s your turn to go.  I’m writing to let you know, someone is waiting up, your room is all ready, the light is on, the door is open, and you’re expected!”  As are you.  Jesus is preparing for you a place…and at the right time he will come and take you home.

He will command his angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways….

“Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;

I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.

He will call upon me, and I will answer him;

I will be with him in trouble,

I will deliver him and honor him.

With long life will I satisfy him

and show him my salvation.”

Psalm 91:11, 14-16

Max Lucado 3:16 – The Numbers of Hope: November 24, 2016

I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God.  For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest, and as a bride adorns herself with jewels.  For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.

Isaiah 61:10-11
