Max Lucado 3:16 – The Numbers of Hope: December 9, 2016

My daughter Andrea, when elementary-school age, asked a grown-up question.  “Dad, if God didn’t want [Adam and Eve] to eat from the tree, why did he put it there?”  The answer, best as I can tell, is to remind us who created whom.  When we attempt to swap roles with God and tell him we can eat (think, say, do, control, own, hurt, inhale, ingest, demand) anything we want, we die two deaths.  Adam and Eve did.  They died physically, eventually, and spiritually, instantly.
