Wisdom For Each Day – May 18, 2014

The Holy Spirit comes to convict us of our sin.  He makes us admit to ourselves that we are sinners.  We cannot come to Christ unless the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sin.  He also convinces us of the truth about Christ as the Savior.

In addition, the Holy Spirit gives us new life.  When we give our lives to Jesus and trust Him as our Savior and Lord, the Spirit renews our souls and bring the life of God into us.  We have joy and peace, and we have a new direction to our lives because the Spirit of God has imparted to us the very life of God.

When [the Holy Spirit] has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.

John 16:8 NKJV

Billy Graham – Wisdom For Each Day

Unto the Hills – June 7, 2013

Surrender is the secret of victorious Christian living.  There needs to be confession of sin and a complete yielding of every area of life, personality, and will to Jesus Christ – plus faith that Christ will accept that commitment.

Whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.

Mark 8:35

The Concept of Divine Control

…how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

Matthew 7:11

God is my Father, He loves me, and I will never think of anything that He will forget, so why should I worry?  Prayer is not asking, but is an attitude of the mind which produces the atmosphere in which asking is perfectly natural.

Thought for the Day – December 27, 2011

Somewhere along her journey, Mother Teresa became convinced that Jesus walked in the “distressing disguise of the poor,” and she set out to love him by loving them.  In 1989 she told a reporter that her Missionaries had picked up around 54,000 people from the streets of Calcutta, and that 23,000 or so had died in their care.
